My name is Dolly. I am a female hahn's macaw and live in Japan.
I am born
When I came to understand about the world, I found myself in a pet store
in Japan.
One day, a local woman who was walking past my cage stopped and looked
at me for a while.
I didn't care at all but she seemed to have fallen in love with me at the first site. I came to live with Mariko
After a week, I was brought to Mariko's home.
Is this my new home?
Although I missed my feathered friends at the pet store Hama-chan, blue and gold macaw, and
Miku-chan, black caped lory, I liked my new family.
Food is good, my cage is always kept clean and mama plays
JAZZ music for me!
My owner
My owner is a natural bird lover.
Her love of birds started when she was six years old.
Her first birds were common finches.
She bought them at the local festival with her own pocket
money.
Together they made a happy family.
When she was 10 years old, a neighbour gave her a pair of budgerigars.
They hatched two babies, a blue one and a yellow
one.
Mariko and her sister each took one into their care.
Mariko's baby was blue one.
She named him Polynesia after the famous parrot in Dr.
Dolittle.
Polynesia
He lived for 8 years and left invaluable memories to
Mariko.
She felt totoally void without Polynesia, she coulnd't dare have another
bird for so many years....
Here comes macaw!
And now, here I am.
Mariko became a great macaw lover !
I am a great talker
I love talking!
I start talking when I feel good and keep talking for
hours.
I can say:
HELLO, GOOD MORNING, DOLLY, DOLLY GIRL, GOOD GIRL,
BEAUTIFUL, ALRIGHT?, BYE-BYE, WHAT'S UP?,
My dear mother, Dolly's towel!, Hyhoo! , WELCOME HOME, I 'M HOME, THANK YOU, GRANDMA, Would you like some?, Wouldn't you like some? Did you ask me?, and many more in Japanese. Can you believe that I am a better talker than Marine, my B&G room
mate?
Hahn's macaws are the best talkers of all the macaws!!
