Daily Diet Mom feeds me sproutmix, variety of vetigables & fruits, and dry seeds everyday. She gives me cashew nuts when I am a good girl. I was fed only sunflower seeds and a little bit of pellets at the petstore, I couldn't eat vegitables nor sproutmix for a long time, but Mom never gave up, she kept offering me those fresh foods for several months even though I didn't touch anything in the food bowl. Now, I am completely get used to my new diet, full of good nutoritions. I love safflower seed best among dry seeds, For vegitables, I like corn, carrot, boild sweet potato and green peas. Blueberries, grapes, tangeline pear, papaia are my favourite fruits. Nuts I had a crack which ran vertically through middle of my lower beak for a long time. I got it when I tried to chew something too hard in November 2001.  I couldn't grind my beaks properly because of this crack, Mom took me to the vet every month to let me have my beak trimmed. I was told that my crack went to the root of my beak, I would have to live with it all my life.... I had to visit the vet for a year and half. Nuts made me miracle! Since Mom started giving me nuts which are full of calcium and protain, I found my beaks were healed as miracle! Nuts in shells are hard to be obtained in Japan.  Drum toy is a gift from Chris, my friend in Canda! Toys for Relaxing Toys are essencial for birds to enhahnce their intelligence and satisty their curiosity. My best favourite toy is the one with a bell on it. I can hang on it, cling to it and when I am in a good mood, I like to wear the bell on my head like a cap!  My favourite cotton swing.  Plastic Chain Birds also need chewable toy to excersie their beaks. I am a good chewer but I can't actually destory toys designed for hahns macaw. 4mm plastic chains are considered to be for hahnsmacaw, but Mom was surprised to see me enjoy destroying 3mm plastic chain. I finish chewing 1 feet of it just in a single day! Mom buys many feet of 3mm chain in various colors for me! She says I should abandon as many feet as I like because my toys are not at all costing compared large macaw toys for Marine, my B&G room mate. Birdie Buddies  Dolly received a birdie buddy from amazon friend in Japan. Dolly was not sure if she was going to like it, but it took only a week or two before Dolly became friend witht her buddy! She loves to take a nap right next to her buddy.   |
